Event Location:

This popular online series offers the opportunity for you to watch and discuss a real couple case, presented by a member of our peer community. MCEFT warmly welcomes Liz Storey as our first presenter for 2022.
Liz is a Melbourne based therapist who works with couples and individuals in a private practice setting. Her first contact with EFT was during her time at Macquarie University Sydney, where she studied Psychology. Since then, she has over 15 years of experience with individual and group counselling in a range of community and private settings. Liz found her way to couple therapy after completing a course at Relationships Australia in 2009, that led her to a Masters of Couple Counselling at Swinburne University. She has completed an Externship in EFT as well as Core A and Core B training. She is currently working towards certification as an EFT couple therapist. Liz transitioned to private practice work about 3 years ago and is currently a valued member of the team at Inner Melbourne Clinical Psychology.
In her presentation, Liz will show recordings of her work with a same sex couple whom she saw for an extended period of time during 2020/2021. Through the strong rapport and trust she developed with the couple, Liz was able to help the couple explore their complex attachment history and de-escalate their negative cycle during extensive Stage 1 work. After some further Stage 2 work with the couple to engage the withdrawn partner, you will be able to watch Liz as she supports the couple through a Stage 2 Pursuer Softening event.
