Same Gender Attracted Couple & Infidelity Case Presentation with Natalie Claire King
Event Date:
March 2, 2024
Event Time:
10:30 am
Event Location:
This popular online series offers the opportunity for you to watch and discuss a real couple case, presented by a member of our peer community. MCEFT warmly welcomes Certified EFT Therapist Natalie Claire King, and long standing MCEFT Committee Member.
Couple Presentation
Natalie will present a same gender attracted couple who struggle to recover and reconnect following an affair. She will show a number of short excerpts of their work together, as they start to identify the negative cycle that keeps them stuck, blocking them from having a healing conversation about the attachment injury.
About Natalie
Natalie’s heart lies with EFT and her interest originated when she first joined the Organising Group for MCEFT while completing her final year studying a Master of Counselling. It was here she began to gain confidence as a therapist and found a welcoming group of peer support and close friends.
At this early stage, Natalie managed to coax her partner into joining her at a Hold Me Tight workshop, hosted by Linda Murrow, where she felt for herself the positive effects of expressing and receiving core emotion and vulnerability. After this experience, she began applying what she’d learned and after seeing the difference in how couples responded to this model, swiftly worked to become a certified EFT therapist. After graduating, Natalie started working as a couple therapist at Couples Therapy Melbourne, where she was able to further practice and hone her skills in EFT. Natalie currently works online in private practice, seeing both individuals and couples, and hosts a monthly peer training group through MCEFT.
Since being introduced to EFT, Natalie and her partner have worked on their own relationship, going through the process of therapy with an ICEEFT certified therapist. Not only has this been a challenging yet rewarding experience, most importantly, it has helped inform Natalie as a therapist about the vulnerability that comes with being a client. Natalie wants to shift the stigma around therapy, especially relationship counselling, wanting to encourage others to feel proud and unashamed of working on themselves and their relationships.
