De-escalation, finishing the mission! 1 - Melbourne EFT

Event Date:

November 4, 2022

Event Time:

9:00 am

Event Location:

Online in the MCEFT Zoom Room

Join George for this half-day online webinar focusing on Stage One of EFT.

Over four hours George will explore his favourite EFT concepts. He will focus specifically on the ‘blocks’ we face in Stage 1 work. How do we spot our clients habitual defensive strategies and move through them towards our goal of connection? In George’s words, how do we stay on mission? How do we honour these protective strategies, finding new meaning and allowing the cool breeze of our attuned empathy to loosen them. How do we do this whilst maintaining our own balance?

George will work with us as we learn to pivot toward the client’s experiential edge, staying with them, whilst moving toward the heart of change.

We are excited to announce that George will be in Melbourne next April for four days of in-person training where he will expand the concepts covered in this webinar and more, offering opportunities for us to practice and embed learning into our own therapeutic style. This webinar is designed as a taster for his EFT Masterclasses. We hope to entice you to join us for a deeper dive with an internationally acclaimed master EFT Trainer in April 2023!

Training Content

Couples work is a dynamic challenge! It can be invigorating and exciting … and sometimes confusing and discouraging. There is nothing like a difficult session to train therapists not to want to work with couples.

This online half day webinar is designed to enhance, deepen, and expand therapeutic work in Stage One of EFT by helping therapists stay focused and implement specific micro-moves to stay on target and help couples achieve de-escalation.

Learning to take control of difficult moments, work with predictable blocks and find in session markers that provide sign posts for progress will allow you to emerge from this training with a distilled set of ‘what works’ applications that can be applied immediately in your clinical work.

This cutting-edge training takes the best of proven interventions and applies them to renew your confidence by getting help in the areas where you get lost in reactivity and mis-attunement. Learn multiple strategies to make explicit, expand and work through the challenges we all experience. Go deeper with George as he breaks down the moment-to-moment decisions that inform the couple treatment process so you can immediately incorporate powerful, proven techniques into your own work. Join us and come away inspired and more fully engaged in your own work with couples and families.

George was trained by the leaders of couples therapy, including Susan Johnson, John Gottman & Harville Hendrix, as he worked front-line to help support and heal families in the profound aftermath of 9/11. George’s down-to-earth, accessible style paired with his masterful precision in articulating and demonstrating the micro-moves of therapy are just some of the reasons that he is uniquely qualified and highly sought after as a Supervisor and Trainer.
