This popular online series offers the opportunity for you to watch and discuss a real couple case, presented by a member of our peer community. MCEFT warmly welcomes Jodie Goddard from the Brisbane Centre for Attachment and Relationship. We spotted Jodie’s enthusiasm and passion for learning the EFT model, in Melbourne where she attended the George Faller events. We know you will welcome and support her as you learn from her experience.
Couple Presentation
Jodie will present a couple who have struggled through the IVF journey together. Jodie will explore the attachment injuries which have emerged through this process.
About Jodie
Jodie is a warm, compassionate and motivated therapist, with a Masters in Counselling. She fell in love with Emotionally Focused Therapy whilst attending an externship in 2020. She is now on the road to certification. She currently works with Clare Rosoman at her private practice in Brisbane. Jodie works with relationships in all forms, with people across the sexuality and gender spectrum and of all neurotypes.
Prior to private practice, Jodie’s professional experience was in social services: aged care, disability and mental health, over eight years. Her experience in these areas drives her passion to support individuals facing challenges due to complex social systems, pathologizing approaches and dominant societal beliefs. She assists individuals, couples and families to make meaning of their lives, reclaim their unique story and reconstruct connected relationships.
In her recent work with relationships, Jodie has found that couples face a myriad of complex concerns that put the pressure on their bond. In particular, navigating the journey to pregnancy through IVF can create and draw out stressors for relationships. She has noticed how EFT can specifically target these stressors from an attachment framework.
Jodie is interested to explore ways therapists can effectively collaborate together for a common purpose – for the health of their client’s relationships. Her presentation is part of that discovery.
