Event Time:
1:00 pm
Event Location:
Abbotsford Convent
*Ticket Sales Now Closed*
Join George for this half day in-person workshop focusing on the self-as-therapist.
Would you like to…
- Break through your own stuck places along the EFT roadmap?
- Explore how your own attachment strategies impact your work?
- Deepen your work with emotions and attachment?
- Learn how to use the best parts of the therapist’s self in session?
Join George as he guides you to explore your experience of the EFT process and work with you right at your growing edges. We all have areas of difficulty with the model and our own “raw spots” that can become triggered by certain clients. Informed by short didactic presentations, George will place a strong focus on the self-of-the-therapist. You will be invited to explore your own patterns and share your discoveries in small groups. Through reflective exercises, reviewing your videotaped therapy segments, and role-playing, you will be supported to notice and break through your own stuck places. When we can acknowledge and process our own raw spots, it allows us to attune closely with our clients and work more deeply with their emotions and attachment needs.

About George Faller
George is a highly respected and beloved Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Trainer and Supervisor. He merges his background as a retired Lieutenant of the NYC Fire Department and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (in NY & CT), as he embodies the calm, precise & strategic approach of a first responder and the mindful, compassionate and nuanced manner of a seasoned clinician. George was trained by the leaders of couples therapy, including Susan Johnson, John Gottman & Harville Hendrix, as he worked front-line to help support and heal families in the profound aftermath of 9/11. George’s down-to-earth, accessible style paired with his masterful precision in articulating and demonstrating the micro-moves of therapy are just some of the reasons that he is uniquely qualified and highly sought after as a Supervisor and Trainer.
George is an Approved Supervisor for the American Association Of Marriage & Family Therapists (AAMFT), Founder and President of the New York Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy (NYCEFT), Director of Training at the Center for Hope and Renewal in Greenwich, CT, Board Member of the Porter Cason Institute for the Family at Tulane University in New Orleans, and teaches courses at The Ackerman Institute in New York City.
He specialises in trauma, family therapy (EFFT), and self-of-therapist issues. He is committed to bringing EFT to first responders and underprivileged families, and hopes his co-authored books True Connection, Sacred Stress and Emotionally Focused Family Therapy and his podcast, Foreplay, contribute to a movement to making our world a more secure place.
