Once again, this popular online series offers the opportunity for you to watch and discuss a real couple case, presented by a member of our peer community.  MCEFT warmly welcomes Dan Auerbach as our second presenter for 2021.  Dan is a Sydney based therapist who has worked Psychodynamically with adult individuals. His first training was in Self-Psychology; a therapy which sees quality relationships as central to wellbeing.  About 8 years ago Dan stumbled onto EFT for Couples. A natural fit, at least in theory. In practice, Dan describes his journey of learning the EFT model as very challenging.  Dan recently became ICEEFT Certified. While he promises no answers, he looks forward to sharing and discussing his Stage 1 and Stage 2 certification recordings.

In his Stage 1 recording, Dan will share his work with a highly reactive Pursue-Pursue couple. He describes trying to maintain control of the session through an active stance, whilst working to assemble one partner’s emotion and placing this into the cycle. In his Stage 2 recording, Dan works with a trauma couple during a pursuer softening event, attempting to maintain a slow and steady focus on one partner’s attachment fears and needs.
