Healing Beyond Survival: An Experiential Exploration of EFIT & EFCT in Working with Trauma and Complex Trauma (cPTSD) Join us for an immersive two-hour presentation exploring the transformative power of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) when working with trauma and complex trauma (cPTSD).
Through the close examination of real clinical video sessions, this presentation offers a unique opportunity to observe both Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) in action. Together, we will explore the moment-to-moment interventions that foster emotional safety, deepen attachment security, and facilitate lasting change for clients whose lives have been shaped by trauma.
What We’ll Explore
EFIT in Action
Observe a clinical video demonstrating the essential elements of an EFIT session, including the therapeutic setup, the encounter, and the experiential interventions that help clients safely access, regulate, and transform core emotional experience following trauma.
EFCT Stage Two: Pursuer Softening
Watch a powerful Stage Two couples session as a Pursuer Softening unfolds within the context of trauma. We will examine how attachment injuries are processed, vulnerability is deepened, and new patterns of emotional responsiveness emerge between partners.
Throughout the presentation, Ray will pause at key moments to unpack the therapist’s interventions, behavioural tracking, attachment formulation, and clinical decision-making, providing practical guidance for integrating EFT principles into your own therapeutic work.
Whether you are new to Emotionally Focused Therapy or an experienced practitioner seeking to deepen your practice, this presentation will offer valuable clinical insights, practical skills, and a richer understanding of how EFIT and EFCT can support healing beyond survival.
