Jamie has a genuine passion for helping people become the best version of themselves, overcoming the inevitable hurdles of life with expert guidance whilst providing individually tailored professional support.
He works with individuals and relationships experiencing issues including depression, anxiety, relational problems, childhood and emotional trauma, issues with sex and sexuality, LGBTIQA+ related concerns, substance abuse, and personality disorders.
Jamie received an undergraduate degree in Psychological Sciences and a Masters in Clinical Psychology from ISPA University, Portugal, graduating top 10% of his cohort, and is currently undertaking a PhD in Clinical Psychology at Swinburne University of Technology and training for registration as a Clinical Psychologist in Australia.
He uses a client-centred integrative approach to therapy drawing from Psychoanalytic and Existential Clinical Psychology, and is currently working on completing advanced therapist training in both Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) and in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
Jamie holds registration as a Provisional Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, within the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), the College – Clinical Psychologists and the Interest Group – Psychoanalytically Oriented Psychology, and is a registered member of the Melbourne Community for Emotionally Focused Therapy (MCEFT).
