I am a Clinical Family Therapist who works with individuals, couples and families experiencing difficulties in their relationships. I have a background in family therapy, psychology, social work, research, and corporate administration. My diverse work experiences have provided me with an understanding of corporate, government, medical and educational settings. I have worked with children and adults in various capacities for over 20 years, including outreach social work with vulnerable families, co-facilitating community playgroups and parent/child attachment programs, and child and family focused research.
I have been in private practice since 2016, and throughout that time, I have provided long and short term therapy to individuals (children, adolescents and adults), and families, including a play therapy program for children (3-11 years) and parent psycho-education. In 2021, I expanded my practice to offer Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFCT). EFCT is an attachment based, experiential model that supports couples to rebuild and strengthen their connection and create a more secure and loving relationship. More recently, I completed training in Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). EFFT uses the principles of Emotionally Focused Therapy to re-establish family patterns that build attachment and that repair familial connection.
My approach is humanistic and client centred, and my many, and varied, life experiences have informed my therapeutic practice. I offer genuine care and compassion, and work with clients to create a therapeutic environment that is non judgmental and supportive.
I am a Clinical Family Therapist Member of Australian Association of Family Therapy Inc. (AAFT) and Member of International Centre of Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT) and Melbourne Community for Emotionally Focused Therapy (MCEFT).
